I just got a tweet from @TweetPGA about the news this morning that several LPGA Tour players have signed a petition calling for Commissioner Carolyn Bivens’ resignation over the tour’s struggles, citing mismanagement in the wake of the failed language issue and twitter fiasco. Some of the names on the petition include Paula Creamer, Lorena Ochoa, Morgan Pressel and Cristie Kerr.

I saw this yesterday and went to twitter to ask some of the afore mentioned players their comments on the issue. Didn’t really get any response and CK just said nope when I asked if she could shed some light. 🙂 They’re all focusing on the Open right now and aren’t really thinking about the issue. She did say that the comments around the reasoning for the request were probably inaccurate.

I can’t say that I blame them really, LPGA isn’t doing so hot right now and someone has to take the blame.

She’s not entirely to blame, but as the commissioner she might have to take one for the team. If she is going to go, I think she’ll stick around and wait for a buy-out of her contract. I was playing golf last night and hit one near her back yard. I was going to ask her for a comment but she wasn’t home. She lives on the 8th hole at Halifax Plantation in Ormond Beach. Maybe we’ll see a “For Sale” sign in the yard soon?
