Play Golf With The Soldiers At Orange County National
Orange County National Golf Center & Lodge, one of my favorite golf facilities in Orlando and many time host of the PGA Tour Q-School, is looking for local golfers to play in a fun Ryder Cup style match with some soldiers from the UK that recently returned from Afghanistan. OCN thinks this would be a great chance for their guests to show some southern hospitality to these brave soldiers and have a great time on the course, and I must say I agree. This isn’t going to be a grudge match with scratch golfers, but rather a light-hearted good time with “normal” golfers in the 15-20 handicap range. Pros and flat-belly scratch golfers probably need not apply. Since I am a scratch player (but don’t have a flat belly!) I’ll be playing left handed to even things out! It should be a blast to spend a day with some military blokes from across the pond, who probably deserve every bit of r&r they are getting.
The event is set for Friday, September 10, 2010 on the Panther Lake course at Orange County National, with tee times starting at 11:36am. If anyone is interested in playing, please contact OCN’s group sales line at 407-905-2279 to sign up for a great day of golf. OCN will offer a $33 rate to players who sign up for this event and also your first round beers will be on them! Spots are limited so sign up now and tell them Intothegrain.com sent you!
