I had the priveledge to hit these clubs and I must say the rsults were better than expected. They had a very clean look at set up and a solid, firm feel on contact. My only concern would be the durability of the micro grooves. Although they bit like a pitbull, the grooves were a pain to clean for the next shot. I would definately be satisfied to have these clubs as my next set of weapons without a doubt.

Ichlis,

SRI Sports bought Cleveland, but they are still very independent and will actually have a stronger year this year I believe. Srixon will not absorb them and make their clubs second string. I think they have a very solid line this year, even better than Srixon probably!

I've reached out to my contact in high places at Cleveland Golf to track down a CG Gold 2 iron for you. I'll email you when I hear back. Cheers!

G'day Gentlemen
I reckon the Clevelands are very under rated and have been gobbled up by Srixon and made to look like a 2nd string club. It is a pity. I have CG Golds and their forgiving and hit beautifully.
All that aside..............
I need your help in trying to find a CG Gold 2 iron. I have tried a few shops and Cleveland themselves without success.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
By the way, I live in Australia and am happy to pay freight from anywhere in the world.
Thanks in advance.

The CG7 Black Pearl irons have the same "Zip" grooves that the new CG15 Wedges have. These are compliant with USGA rules for 2010 for the vast majority of golfers. If you are playing in high level USGA Amateur or US Open Qualifiers or are on the PGA Tour, these will not be legal according to the new condition of competition for those events and you need to get clubs with the modified grooves. For more info on the groove rule change, see my article here: http://www.intothegrain.com/about-the-usga-groove-rule-change/
